The Dolphin Queen
Located in Charleston Harbor
The Dolphin Queen
The Dolphin Queen is the flagship of the Flipper Finders fleet, used for dolphin tours, party boat trips, bachelorettes, and group outings of all kinds. She moves comfortably through Folly Beach estuaries and coastal waters, offering a smooth, stable ride whether the goal is wildlife viewing, cruising, or celebrating on the water.
Over the years, dolphins have shown a habit of appearing around her again and again: surfacing nearby, riding her wake, and lingering longer than expected. It’s earned her a reputation as something of a dolphin magnet, and locals like to joke that the dolphins know their queen and enjoy paying homage when she’s on the water.
Named The Dolphin Queen in a playful nod to Captain Richard: affectionately dubbed “The Dolphin King” during the rise of TV show Tiger King: the name stuck as both a joke and a truth. It reflects a love for dolphins, a sense of humor, and the kind of local lore that grows naturally when you spend enough time on the water.
Designed by Jesse Rhodes (Sportsman and Freedman Boats) and built in Charleston by the same craftsmen behind the Spirit of South Carolina, The Dolphin Queen is a custom, one-of-a-kind high composite tour boat. Her design blends the workboat soul of a lobster boat, the clean elegance of a Hinckley, and the comfort of a bow rider: all with a distinctly South Carolina feel. With a booming sound system, spacious layout, and room for up to 18–20 passengers, she’s perfectly suited for everything from relaxed dolphin tours to high-energy celebrations on the water.
